My current 2012 MBP runs Fusion 360 well overall, it starts stuttering when things get complex and also when it's time to render, but totally usable. I'm not into gaming so maybe having a gaming notebook is kind of overkill in my case, plus the resell price is way better on the MBP's side (specially important as a student and here in Argentina). I Know that the Lenovo is clearly superior in terms of sheer power and will run Fusion 360 and Keyshot better than the MBP, but isn't the MBP enough for my needs? Because I prefer that one for my daily use in the rest of aspects due to the OS (I'm already used to it and into the "Apple Ecosystem"), wonderful screen and design. I've seen some benchmarks and the Lenovo's CPU is not astoundingly superior to the 2015 MBP's (around 10% faster), the biggest difference is that the Lenovo has a dedicated GPU. On the other side I have a Lenovo Legion Y520 with an Intel i7 7700 HQ (Quad Core 2.8 GHz), 16 GB RAM, 256 SSD and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti (4 GB) GPU. On the first side I have a Mid 2015 MacBook Pro 15" with an Intel i7 4770 HQ (Quad Core 2.2 GHz), 16GB RAM, 256 SSD and the CPU's integrated graphics card (Intel Iris 5200 Pro).

I'm a 2nd year Industrial Design student and I use my current MBP mostly for daily use such as surfing the web, YouTube, writing essays, research and stuff like that + 3d modelling for my product design projects on Fusion 360 and maybe a few renders on Keyshot (I have my brother's fully decked out desktop PC if I need to push heavy rendering).

Hello everyone, I'm about to upgrade my Mid 2012 MacBook Pro 13" (Dual Core i5 2.5 GHz, 10GB RAM) and I'm on the fence about two different notebooks.
